IKEA – Sheffield

Work on the project began in late 2016 after Clugston Construction secured the contract to work on the 340,000 sq ft flagship store.

The IKEA Sheffield store, the 20th in the UK, has created over 480 jobs in a wide range of roles including customer relations, contact centre, sales, interior design and in the IKEA restaurant.

IKEA Sheffield is the retailer’s most sustainable store to date and has achieved a BREEAM* ‘excellent’ accreditation. The design incorporates a number of sustainable technologies including photovoltaic panels and rainwater harvesting as part of the store’s commitment to achieving 100% renewable energy by 2020.
